Flash Sale! Just Breathe….
Hello beloveds,
We are sending so much love to each and every one of you, along with a big dose of gratitude for all the ways you are showing up in loving solidarity with one another and our communities targeted by ICE.
How are you faring in these wild times? Are you remembering to feel the earth beneath you? Are you remembering to breathe?
As more and more of us are called to participate in the nonviolent resistance to authoritarianism, it’s vital that we tend to ourselves in a way that helps us act from a grounded and loving stance. When we feel into the unconditional support of the earth and air around us, it’s much easier to access our courageous love, and to resist the urge to respond to violence with violence.
When we connect with earth and breath, we also connect with the unseen network that binds us all in body and voice, in community and song. And every time we sing or shout or whisper our values and visions aloud, we participate in cocreating the more thriving, just, and liberated world so many of us know is possible.
Our grounded presence is a gift and a necessity for the work of world creation. Our steady breath is a gateway to it. I call upon mindful movement, walks in the woods, breathing practices, and meditation to access those states. But sometimes, I need a little extra help getting there, and when I do, I turn to Tulsi. Every day.
Also known as Holy Basil, Tulsi has been used in Ayurvedic Medicine for over 3000 years. It is considered an adaptogen that helps our bodies and psyches manage daily stressors by supporting multiple systems in the body. More simply stated, it takes the edge off nervous tension and physical stress while promoting mental clarity, brightness, and calm.
Not only is Tulsi soothing to the nervous system, it has a particular affinity for the respiratory system and has been shown to be effective in managing asthma and preventing or shortening the duration of colds. And, of course, grounding breath is much more accessible when our lungs are functioning well.
Tulsi has even more to offer, but I’ll let you read this blog post about it if you want to learn more.
Another friend to the breath that many folks are familiar with is Mullein. With wide-lobed leaves that reflect the shape of the lungs, Mullein has long been smoked, used as a tea, and made into tincture for respiratory support. Its moistening qualities not only soothe dry coughs and irritated lungs, but can bring warmth and moisture to creaky joints and tissues throughout the body.
With its solid and tall flowering stalk, mullein also carries the energy of a strong spine, yet another quality we can call upon in our work as love warriors.
And so, we’re offering a 20% off flash sale on Tulsi and Mullein tinctures through this coming Sunday, February 8th. We’ll throw CBD tincture in there as well, as it can be incredibly effective in promoting rest, sleep, and calm, while decreasing inflammation and anxiety.
And then Seth and I will be gone for a month! We’ll be replenishing our nervous systems by exploring the waters and ancient ruins on the Yucatan Peninsula. One of our community members will be fulfilling orders while we’re gone, but if you want anything special, now’s the time to be in touch!
In love and grounding presence, xo Bex and Seth
