Cultivating Joy + Creativity: A FREE new moon circle tonight!

Last night I gathered with about fifty people or so on the grassy lawn behind our common building for the “Battle of the Bands.” If all “battles” could be as welcoming, supportive, and non-competitive as the event last night, we would live in a truly harmonic world full of vulnerability and bouncy dances.
The air was soft, the light was golden, the laughter was abundant, and, after acknowledging some atrocities both close to home and global, our MC said something like, “…and tonight we gather in my favorite form of resistance, JOY!”
AMEN! They can take away funding for PBS and cancel Stephen Colbert (and don’t get me wrong, I think it’s atrocious that they did), but NO ONE can take away our capacity for connection with one another.
No one can take away our laughter.
No one can steal our homespun harmonies.
And no one can prevent us from gathering on a summer evening to share our love and creativity with one another.
As the world that we’ve known crumbles, we have an opportunity to bring a new one into being. Cultivating communities, social structures, and governments that support the wellbeing of all beings, particularly the most vulnerable, may be the ultimate creative act.
And in order to do so, we MUST be in relationship with our creativity and fierce love for all the things we want to honor, protect, and uplift in the new paradigm we’re ushering in. Of course, fear and grief and despair can be there too, but held in a wide and loving field where creativity and joy are always ready to come out and play.
This evening I am facilitating an online gathering to honor the new moon in Leo. We will connect with our creative spirits, playfulness, and joy to embody the radiance at our core. Through guided meditation, freewriting, crafting, and tarot readings we will uncover the ways that our greatest joys can meet the world’s deepest hungers as we live into a more beautiful way of living together on this shared planet home.
