Wildcrafting Workshops

This coming Sunday we are hosting our second wildcrafting workshop of the season! This time we’ll head down a wooded trail to a mugwort patch to learn about and harvest this fragrant and multifaceted herbal ally. Along the way, we’ll get to know the other edible and medicinal plants we encounter.

We’ll make sleep or smoke bundles with our harvest and lie down in the forest for a deep rest guided meditation, followed by a BYO picnic and wild tea from whatever inspires us—perhaps Doug fir tips, coyote mint, and blackberry leaves!

And if you want to make a sweet getaway out of it, you can stay in the earthen Air B&B cottage on our land!

Fluid Flush Tincture Blend

You’ve been asking and now we have it—a tincture to support your lymphatic system! You have probably experienced the painful pressure of a swollen lymph node while fighting off an infection, but it’s best not to wait until you’re sick or in pain to cleanse the lymph.

The lymphatic system is often referred to as our inner watershed, as it is comprised of fluids that help remove waste, toxins, and pathogens from cells and carry them to lymph nodes where they are filtered and addressed by the immune system.

Tending to the lymphatic system is as important to the wellbeing of our bodies as healthy waterways are to the ecosystems that support us.

Unlike the circulatory system, which has its own pump and scarlet channels for carrying blood throughout the body, the lymph relies primarily on physical movement to function optimally. However, there are a variety of wellness herbs that offer extra support for detoxing and cleansing lymph fluids.

Keeping our inner rivers clear is important all the time, but if you notice swollen tissues—particularly at the joints and extremities, tender lymph nodes, brain fog, general aches and pains, or rashy or leathery skin, you may be overdue for a lymph cleanse, and we’ve got you! Made with a gentle yet mighty combination of cleavers, calendula, and goldenrod, our Fluid Flush Tincture may be just the thing.

Cleavers

Cleavers is perhaps the most well known ally for cleansing lymph and breaking up fibrous tissues. It’s a delicate-looking plant that sticks like velcro to fabric and grows creekside in early spring.

Our teacher Scott Kloos says it’s particularly indicated when there is heat with rashes, eczema, or psoriasis. Cleavers can also help clear deposits from the bladder or kidney, and is recommended for urinary tract infections. Its early spring appearance suggests that it’s a helpful herb for clearing out stagnancy built up over the winter.

Calendula

Vibrant calendula is well known for its use as a topical oil or salve to soothe the skin and help it heal from wounds.

It is not, however, as well known for its ability to support the skin from the inside out when taken as a tea or tincture, which it does by helping lymphatic fluids flow, rather than stagnating in the cells of the skin and other tissues.

As a slightly bitter herb, calendula also supports healthy digestion and liver function, both of which support—and are supported by—free-flowing lymph fluids.

Goldenrod

This beauty is one of my favorite herbal allies, not just because of its golden glory, but because it shares its gifts in so many ways. It’s super helpful for seasonal allergies, stuffy sinuses, and digestion, and it has a particular affinity for the bladder and kidneys.

A mild diuretic, goldenrod has traditionally been used to tone tissues in the bladder and urinary tract, address UTIs, and flush out kidney stones. And, like cleavers and calendula, goldenrod can help reduce swelling in the extremities and address skin issues caused by unprocessed metabolic waste.

Poison Oak Spray

At long last we have a spray for your poison oak rashes!

This topical spray is made with the vulnerary, astringent, and pain-relieving tinctures of gumweed, calendula, and manzanita, along with some skin-soothing aloe vera. It should ease the pain, itching, and oozing associated with poison oak rashes and blisters and speed up recovery time. It can also be used to help prevent infection and promote skin cell growth in any flesh wound.

Get it before you need it, and spray directly onto affected area as needed when you do!

CBD Tincture

Our CBD tincture is made with organic hemp grown on a biodynamic farm. It’s a potent anti-inflammatory and is the tincture we recommend most frequently for pain relief and sleep support…. and it’s supportive for so much more!

AND, if four-ounce bottles are your thing, load up before June 1st because the OLCC will no longer allow us to sell volumes greater than an ounce per unit. Or get as many 1 oz. bottles as you’d like for 20% off by May 31st!

*Sale good for 1oz. & 2oz. bottles only. Ends May 31st.

Wild Forest Mists Are Back!

If you’re a fan of our Douglas fir or incense cedar hydrosols, you will be happy to know that they are back in action!

These mists carry the scent of the forest on them and make amazing room, body, and linen sprays. You can order them in 4 oz. spray bottles or 48 oz. jars.

The small ones are perfect for gifts and personal use, and the big ones are a great way to bring the wild forest into your home with the help of a diffuser or humidifier.

Announcement! 4 oz. CBD Changes

As of June 1st, we will no longer be able to sell 4 oz. bottles of CBD tincture because of new rules put out by the state of Oregon. We will also be revamping our labels to comply.

We feel sad about this because we love being able to offer you a super good deal and reducing our packaging and labor costs. SO, if you are a fan of the large bottles of CBD, we recommend you load up now!

After June 1st, the best deal for larger volumes of CBD is our 3-pack of 1 oz. bottles for $96.

Thanks for understanding!

…And then somewhere along the way, you made a vow, didn’t you? I’m not talking about a, “I’ll never do that again,” kind of vow (though those do have their place), but the kind that rumbles so deep and low inside you that you may not even be aware you made it.

So now, as you stand here at this gate, I ask you—what is your most sacred vow? To what is your soul so devoted that it’s willing to pull you away from the known comforts of the past and propel you into the great wide open?

If you know the answer to that question, my sweet…keep reading.
